I’ve been feeling the symptoms of flu since 3rd set Saturday night. Sunday was bearable, Monday was ‘let’s self-medicate and see-how’ day. Tuesday lunchtime I went to the doctor, after sleeping in till my bones ached.
The doc says I don’t need antibiotics. It certainly felt like I did. Hot air was coming out my nose, a gazillion litres of mucus and… yeah you get the picture. I went back and slept another 3 hours hoping it would all go away after some medication.
Bala on a Tuesday when you feel as sick as I was, was a huge test of patience. I willed time to pass by, it was a blessing in disguise that Joan had to skip Bala for another show and Asri was available to help. Asri has lots of songs, lots of songs that Fandy did not get to rehearse, but Fandy made it through. We’re really happy with Fandy’s progress, his last night during this stint will be this Thursday so be sure to come give him some support, will ya?
What seemed like a quiet night turned into two semi-rowdy (in a positive way) tables having a good time and constantly asking for more. It has been quite a test getting used to the Tuesday crowd at Bala (what crowd?) and starting all over again after building up the Wednesday crowd for almost 5 years, is quite frankly, the last thing on my mind. Work is work, when posed with a challenge, you either embrace it or you reject it without trying.
So back to the Tuesday peeps at Bala last night. Thank you for being patient with that awful nasal sound coming out of me and keeping up with my constant state of grouchiness. I really, really, really wanted to crawl home and into bed.
The show must go on, and it did. I am grateful for the support from the guys in the band.
Today I rest, tomorrow we have a good time at Wala!
Yeah. The show must go on. Get well soon. I’m comin home and will see you guyz soon
