Tales of The UnXpected.
When Bloc Party dropped the ‘k’ in ‘Block’ to derive their name, it acquired an aesthetically pleasing quality to it when you saw it and lost nothing when you pronounced it. When the local rock band, The UnXpected, dropped an ‘e’ and stepped up the ‘x’ from what was originally a proper English word, it just looks inarticulate. But their music is a different story.Their music, my friends, is just excellent. When they get in gear, they completely rock the roof off the joint. Their gig is a tight set of rock music covers and original tracks on Thursdays at Wala-Wala. The very hot & feisty frontwoman, Shirlyn Tan, is a fabulous performer & instantly made me forget the disappointment of seeing the band name in pseudo-StudyCaps.

We didn’t realise spelling our name as such would make it look like STUDLYCaps. The hidden sexual meanings behind the big U and big X has yet to be revealed so yeah y’all be patient hokay?
To look inarticulate… maybe if we spelt it like The UnxpecTED, when we perhaps take in a new member called TED, now there’s a thought!

Quite frankly I am disappointed the author called my drummer Brennan instead of Brandon. When you pronounce those two names, it DOES sound different! (Unlike Bloc vs Block and UnXpected vs Unexpected)
